From Cordoba, we drove nearly 8 hours with Carlos parents (Nelly & Hugo) to Talampaya National Park. But even though the trip was long, the scenery on the way was beautiful... maybe we would have only taken 5 hours if it weren't for the many photo stops ;-)

We stayed in a hotel in Villa Union, the nearest hotel to the National Park (64 kms north)!
Early the next morning, we entered the Talampaya National Park... it was amazing!!

The rock formations are 265.000.000 years old and reach up to 150mts high (like a 50 stories building)

On the next day, we drove 137 kms from Villa Union in the province of La Rioja to the province of San Juan, where the Provincial Park Ischigualasto is located. It's also known as 'Valle de la Luna' - moon valley, and the pictures explain why!

The mountain behind Alex is called "Indio acostado" (Sleeping indian)...Looks rather like a pregnant indian :-)

Among others, this is one of the most wonderful formations: "The Submarine"...
